ANC Free State welcomes decline in unemployment

The African National Congress (ANC) in Free State province warmly welcomes the statistics released by Statistics South Africa, on 11 February 2014, which shows that the unemployment rate for the Free State declined from 33.7% in the second quarter to 33.0% in the last quarter in 2014.

According to the Quarterly Labour Force Survey, the total number of people who are employed in the province increased from 737 000 in the second quarter to 746 000 in the third quarter. This means that the Free State economy created 9 00 jobs between October and December last year.

Free State Province Announces Matric Class of 2013 Results

The Chairman of the ANC and Premier of the Free State, Cde Ace Magashule and PEC Member - Head of Elections and MEC for Education, Cde Tate Makgoe will on Tuesday, 07 January 2014 officially announce the Provincial 2013 results during a Media Briefing Session to be held at the Hotel School, Central University of Technology (CUT). Thereafter, the main function will be held at the Boet Troskie Hall, starting at 09:55 a.m.

During the event, top performing 100 learners in the Free State will be honoured in what is termed the "Well Done Function". 

Media Statement from the ANC Annual Lekgotla

The ANC annual Lekgotla convened to review progress and impact in the transformation of society. This was a special Lekgotla looking into ANC achievements 20yrs under democracy and entry in its fifth year of democratic elections as government.  Since 2009, the ANC in the Free State has proven to be the champion of democracy by ensuring that millions of more people have access to clean water and electricity, quality education and better health care.   The ANC has created more jobs, provided social grants to the poor, and created new opportunities.
