ANC STATEMENT ON THE FINAL PREPARATIONS FOR THE 103RD ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS TO BE HELD ON THE 10TH JANUARY 2015

The African National Congress will host its January 8 103rd Anniversary Celebrations at the Cape Town Stadium on the 10th January 2015. South Africa, the Western Cape and the ANC is ready to host the celebrations which we are confident will be a resounding success.

Today, 8 January 2015, marks 103 years since the establishment of the African National Congress in 1912. As part of the build up to the celebrations to be held on the 10th January 2015 at the Cape Stadium, members of the National Executive Committee led by the National Officials will be marking the day amongst our people in various communities in the Western Cape today. ANC Free State convenes the PGC in between Provincial Conference as required by its Constitution.It undertakes a mid-term review of its work since Provincial & National Conferences on implementation of resolutions.

ANC and ANCWL NWC and NEC member, Comrade Sisi Mabe

Comrade Sisi Mabe passed away on 30 November 2014 after a long illness.

Born in Phiritona, Heilbron in the Free State, Comrade Mabe was a teacher by profession. She cut her teeth in politics as an executive member of the South African National Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU), where she was responsible for gender issues. She later became the Regional Treasurer of the ANCWL in the Free State.
