ANC condemns assault outside Luthuli House

The African National Congress condemns in the strongest possible terms the assault of protestors by a grouping outside the ANC Headquarters, Chief Albert Luthuli House, earlier today. Regardless of what some may deem as provocation by the Black First Land First Movement who intended to march to Luthuli House, there will never be any justification for scenes as the ones witnessed today. Disturbing in the extreme is the assault of women in so callous and dehumanizing manner.

 

ANC SUPPORTS CALLS FOR NATIONAL GOVERNMENT INTERVENTION IN THE CITY OF CAPE TOWN

The African National Congress (ANC) supports the position adopted by the ANC Caucus at the City of Cape Town Metropolitan Council to withdraw the motion of no confidence brought by the ANC against Mayor Patricia De Lille.  Whilst Patricia De Lille, is the face of a corrupt, dysfunctional municipality as well as a weak, directionless Democratic Alliance (DA) at the City, she is but one cog of a bigger problem that is the DA and its patronage networks within the City.

Disgruntled ANC Members Withdraw Legal Action

MEMBERS of the African National Congress unhappy wih the outcome of the Provincial Elective Conference in the Free State have withdrawn their court challenge.

This was revealed by Secretary General Ace Magashule in Bloemfontein today, who added that the unity of the party was of paramount importance. The Secretary General said the ANC has resolved to internally resolve its issues, which led to the appeal being withdraw.
