ANC welcomes changes to the National Executive announced by the President

The African National Congress (ANC) notes and welcomes the changes to the National Executive of the Republic of South Africa announced today by the President, Comrade Cyril Ramaphosa. President Ramaphosa, exercised his constitutional responsibilities, in line with Section 91 of the constitution to appoint the Deputy President, Ministers and Deputy Ministers.

 

Statement of the African National Congress following the Special National Executive Committee held on the 25th February 2018

The African National Congress (ANC) held a Special meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) today, 25th February 2018.

The Special meeting was called to conclude the deployment of members of the NEC into Sub-Committees and to Provinces.

ANC Statement on the passing of Comrade Malerato Rosemary Tsupa.

The ANCFS is saddened to learn of the untimely passing of Cde Malerato who met her death through a car accident. She was travelling with Cde Setjhaba Nyamani ( Nomzamo branch Secretary, Ward 7) whom is still recovering in Hospital, they were from an ANC programme in Virginia at the time of the accident.

Comrade Malerato was the Branch Secretary as well as a PR Councillor of Joe Modise, Ward 4 in Virginia, Matjhabeng seconded to Lejweleputswa District Municipality.
We convey our collective organizational condolences to the bereaved family of Comrade Malerato.

ANC CAUCUS RESPONSE TO THE 2018 BUDGET

In the face of challenging global and domestic economic conditions, the ANC Parliamentary Caucus welcomes the very adroit budget tabled by the Minister of Finance, comrade Malusi Gigaba, today. This 2018 Budget carefully and sensitively balances the need to stimulate economic growth, reduce wasteful expenditure, contain debt, increase revenues and protect the poor.

ANC WISHES MME KOTANE A GLORIOUS 106TH BIRTHDAY

The African National Congress congratulates struggle stalwart and veteran of our movement, Mme Rebecca Kotane, on the occasion of her 106th birthday. 

Born a month after the formation of the ANC, Mme Kotane was married to the former  General Secretary of the South African Communist Party (SACP) and Treasurer General of the ANC, Comrade Moses Kotane.

Fellow South Africans,

There has been a lot of speculation and anxiety about the position of President Jacob Zuma as the head of state and government of our country.

I would like to clarify some matters in this regard.

Last night, President Jacob Zuma and I began direct discussions on the transition and matters relating to his position as the President of the Republic.

The discussions were constructive and lay the basis for a speedy resolution of the matter in the interests of the country and its people.
